Ever imagine what would it be if there's really an express train that comes with ghosts and everything that is frightening. Well, I don't want to see that for real. I'm a mom who doesn't believe in things that I don't see but if it gives me a chill then I'll be scared. Good thing that Nickelodeon's Takotown is only a fragment of imagination created for the Kids on the spookiest day of the year.

Nickelodeon presented the Takotown: Fright Express - a one-of-a-kind Halloween experience held at SM Megamall Megatrade Hall where it is expected to have over 4,000 fans treated to an afternoon packed with frightfully-fun tricks and treats, surprises and activities, with the highlight being the Spook Station's Terror Tour.

The perfect trick or treat activity for kids (and the young at heart), Nickelodeon's Takotown: Fright Express turned a usually scary Halloween extravaganza into an epic celebration, the Nickelodeon way. And with the Spook Station's unique and thematic areas, the haunted main attraction offered an unforgettable experience to families.

The Terror tour took guests on an exciting and interactive travel experience inside the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall. With four special train stops, kids departed for a journey to the Haunted Mansion, where they saw old, creepy-looking picture frames that had real-life costume characters do the scaring.

Along the Cemetery area, passengers weaved through cobwebs and encountered white ladies and ghosts, with skeletons all over the place, while floating coffins swarmed one of the train stops. Filled with spooky trees and a strange abandoned cabin, the Scary Jungle stop left guests screaming and asking for more.

At the opening of Takotown, attendees were treated to an exclusive screening of Nickelodeon's newest shows - School of Rock and Regal Academy. Live-action show School of Rock, based on a group of overachieving prep school students who band together and learn how to rock it out, was a hit. Regal Academy showed a hilarious and an exciting new take on some of the best-loved fairy tales, which focused on the adventures of Rose Cinderella, the newest student at Regal Academy.

A special activity area was also in-store for the thousands of Takotown fans. Apart from the Spook Station's Terror Tour, guests also took part in Nickelodeon-inspired stage games, patterned after some of the brand's well-loved shows, such as The Loud House, and The Fairly Odd Parents, for a memorable Halloween experience.

To complete the visit to Takotown, some of Nickelodeon's famous characters, like Bikini Bottom's SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star, as well as PAW Patrol's Chase and Marshall, also made special appearances and delighted event-goers.

Book and Borders Cafe is not new to me because I have been to its first opening and I can say that its choice of place and space is quite different. I can also say that this is just the best spot for keen readers of Novel books. Another thing is that it is one of the places that most book lovers would definitely a place to hang out. SandBox announced that it will be extending operating hours starting December 2. Guests will be able to enjoy all the rides until 9 PM every Friday and Saturday. “Due to increased public demand, we are extending until 9 PM to cater to more visitors on weekends,” shared Jomi De Guzman, Alviera Project Development Manager.

This Christmas however, weekends at Alviera will be extra special with the "SandBox Holiday Beats" concert adding to the holiday cheer on December 3, 9, and 17. It will feature live performances from some of the country’s most popular bands: Ki Ro, Chocolate Factory, Che Che Bureche, Silent Sanctuary, Moonstar 88, and Hale. Regal Entertainment, Inc.'s early Christmas Offering, "Mano Po 7 Chinoy" is a star studded treat opening on December 14.

"Mano Po" is the country's biggest film franchise in drama. The mother and daughter team of Lily and Roselle Monteverde decided to produce the new edition in the highly successful film franchise because of its timely plot and insistent public clamor. Dining on a weekend is perhaps one of the Filipinos traits that represents family ties and of course connection with friends. Mike Tan happily celebrated his 29th birthday at Infinite Blessed Home Care located at Don Antonio Heights, Quezon City. He shared his blessings through charily works. He spent time with the elders because it reminds him of his grandparents.

Mike Tan got the chance to mingle with the lolo's and lola's at the Home Care. He even sung a few songs with them, personally gave food and ate with them and had a small chit chat with the elderly. His glances shows how he respect the elderly that much like what we usually did. Most of our elders instructs as to "bless your lolo and lola" which most of today's teenagers forgets. They didn't know that it is one of the ways of showing respect to our grandparents. Good job Mike Tan!

As of the moment, Mike Tan is part of the GMA Afternoon Prime Teleserye, "Ika-6 na Utos". It tackles about married life and how important fidelity, loyalty and trust is in the family aside from love. Joining him in the teleserye are Ryza Ceno, Sunshine Dizon and Mr. Gabby Concepcion.

Mike Tan shared that there are lots of lessons to be learned in their teleserye, one of it is on how to handle if ever they encounter that kind of situation. Mike is very thankful as well because GMA continuously give him challenging roles that enhances his acting ability.

When Mike Tan was asked about what are the activities that makes him busy now, he shared that he is now busy with the Teleserye, planning the holiday vacation and do some training like swimming.

The movie brought home eight awards including Best Director for Erik Matti; Best Supporting Actress Phoebe Walker; Special Jury Prize Rhed Bustamante; Best Screenplay; Best Sound; Best Production Design; Best Cinematography and Best Theme Song for Dominus Miserere.

Sunday Beauty Queen, the very first documentary to be included in the annual festival was chosen as Best Picture.

Irma Adlawan won the coveted Best Actress category for the movie Oro, while Paolo Ballesteros was chosen as Best Actor for his performance in ¬Die Beautiful. Newcomer Christian Bables got the most cheers after being named Best Supporting Actor for his role as Barbs in Die Beautiful.

HOOQ likewise gave out its own set of awards for the Short Films category including Best Screenplay: Mitatang; Best Director: Jarell Serencio Mga Bituin sa Siyudad; Special Jury Prize for Manila Scream; and Best Picture for EJK.
Ronnie Alonte and Rhian Ramos meanwhile, were recognized as the HOOQ Male and Female Celebrities of the Night for their stunning looks at the red carpet.

HOME OF THE MMFF WINNERS

NEW PLATFORM FOR THE NEXT GEN FILMMAKERS

MMFF and HOOQ are also working together to encourage the next generation of movie makers through the HOOQ Short Films category. HOOQ awarded a host of Short Film prizes including the Special Jury Prize and the Best Short Film.

Each HOOQ Short Film was partnered with a long-form finalist and were screened during the MMFF regular theater run from December 25 to January 3. Each film runs under 5 minutes and most will be available on HOOQ shortly after conclusion of the Metro Manila Film Festival.

“Last year, we saw a lot of very interesting entries that surprised us with their quick narratives and creative storytelling techniques,” added Remigio. “HOOQ believes in nurturing these next generation of film makers by providing them a platform where more audiences can view their movies.”

“The world has begun to take notice of the best content Philippine cinema can offer, by supporting these young filmmakers, HOOQ is also investing in the future of entertainment,” adds Remigio.

PARADE OF STARS

The festival kicked off with the annual Parade of Stars on December 23 which began at the Manila City Hall at Nicanor Lopez Street and ended at Plaza Miranda—the original route used in the very first MMFF Float Parade.

Among the stars that participated in the Grand Parade of Stars were Nora Aunor, Eugene Domingo, Paolo Ballesteros, Kean Cipriano, Julia Barretto, Joshua Garcia, Ronnie Alonte, Dominic Roque, Mercedes Cabral and many others.

Bela Padilla also joined the parade aboard HOOQ’s OTJ float. Padilla is one of the lead stars of the upcoming series OTJ: The Missing 8, the very first original local content produced exclusively for the video on demand service.

Who wouldn't know Papa P??? Well, I've known him since I was a teenager. Remember the Sprite ads on TV with Toni G shouting "I Love You Piolo!!!", well if you're on that league then you know what I'm saying. Perhaps that was the time he was climbing on top of his career.

Now that his at his 40s, there are so many information that he had shared to bloggers and media during his Birthday BlogCon. I can say that he is truly an outspoken person that he does not mind whatever you ask about him and take note he definitely answers it wholeheartedly. That was a very nice gesture Papa P!

What's more interesting about Papa P is that he is a shy type of person. Of which doesn't show that much. I can say that we're almost the same before when it comes to shyness because my family and friends knows that I am a very shy person and with an inferiority complex as well.

I find it hard to overcome with myself but just like Papa P's words of wisdom to himself that he is a work in progress and as a result he was able to overcome his shyness. It's hard on my side to overcome it because I'm no celebrity but thankful enough I was able to put up against shyness and made a champion out of me. Perhaps shyness is innate in both of us that there are instances that we cannot avoid but stay as shy as we are.

That's one of the insecurities that Papa P has and according to him there are others and he was able to share it to the public. The Mr. Ultimate Piolo got plenty of insecurities as well, Watch More here in the video the other insecurities of #MrUltimatePiolo

When Piolo was asked about the things that make him "Kilig". His answer awe everyone, because the things that makes "kilig" or the giggly thing is his son Inigo Pascual, he even coined it as another description and called it #connection. When it comes to sports I like only a few of them and one of them is basketball. Maybe the reason is that it is one of the sports where Filipinos love very much and it unites us all and shares a bond with everyone. For us Filipinos it is already part of our culture. The newest offering of Figaro is for families. And since moms knows what's best, I like Lemon Butter Fish Fillet the most, because I love fish just like my kids said my favorite is fish, plus it has pepper and I love put more pepper in every dish that I cook for my family, that's why I enjoyed eating the Lemon Butter Fish Fillet.

My hubby will definitely enjoy the Salisbury Meatballs and Gourmet Embotido, he is more into meat, the ingredients of these 2 rice meals is perfect and as a wife I know what my hubby like the most. The finale, Mommies, we all know that kids love BBQ, right? They will definitely enjoy the Grilled Pork Belly BBQ, it really taste good and kids love the touch of sweetness in their food which I find right for my kids.

Among the drinks, I love their Hot Chocolate, but this time, I tried their Chocolate Frappe, it really taste good and honestly, it has a perfect sweetness that you cannot feel "umay" at all. I finished in just one sitting the large size of Frappe. Loved their food as much as their ambiance, it gives the relaxing feeling, I feel at home at Figaro.

Who don't love muffins??Yes, Figaro offers different varieties of Muffins too, and look at my kids they really enjoyed it, Thank you so much Figaro!
